Citizen

Citizen began in Japan in 1918 and built its reputation on solving problems rather than chasing trends. The clearest example is Eco-Drive, introduced in 1976 and refined ever since: a movement powered by light, any light, including ordinary indoor lighting. It never needs a battery. For a watch worn daily that is a real difference, not a marketing line, and it is the reason many Citizen owners go years without thinking about their watch at all.

The engineering runs deeper than the power source. Super Titanium is Citizen's own material, titanium treated with a proprietary surface hardening process that makes it substantially lighter than stainless steel and far more scratch resistant. Promaster is the tool watch line, split into Land, Marine, and Sky for hiking, diving, and aviation, and Citizen has been building serious dive watches since 1982. The Series 8 models use in house automatic movements for anyone who prefers a mechanical watch, while the Elegant and Classic lines cover dress watches for men and women, from slim gold tone designs to diamond accented bracelets. At the far end sits Caliber 0100, accurate to within one second per year.
